Appeals Court Reduces Nasrin Sotoudeh’s Sentence to 6 Years in Prison

RAHANA: The Appeals Court has reduced Nasrin Sotoudeh’s sentence to 6 years in prison and a 10 year ban from practicing the law.

The attorney of human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh, Mina Jafari has been informed that her sentence has been reduced to 6 years in prison and a 10 year ban from practicing the law. Her other attorney is Abdolfatah Soltani who is currently inn prison.

According to the Human Rights House of Iran, her sentenced has been reduced to 6 years in prison, and a 10 year ban from practicing law. The 20 year ban for her to leave the country has not been mentioned in the appeals court’s decision.

The lower court had sentenced her to 11 years in prison, a 20 year ban on practicing law and on leaving the country for acting against national security and anti-regime propaganda.
