Maryam Bidgoli, Campaign Activist Arrested

Change for Equality: Maryam Bidgoli, Campaign activist in Qom has been arrested at her home on Thursday July 20th.

She has called her family in the same day and informed that she has been transferred to Langroud prison in the city of Qom.

Fatemeh Masjedi and Maryam Bidgoli had been arrested earlier and then released on bail after two weeks. They had been sentenced to one year in prison and a monetary fine because of their "membership in a feminist group" and "propaganda against the state". The appeal court then reduced this sentences to 6 months.

Fatemeh Masjedi had been detained earlier and has been released after serving her sentence.
