Navid Mohebi, Blogger and Campaign Activist Released from Prison

Change for Equality: Navid Mohebi a young blogger and Campaign activist based in the Northern city of Amol was released on 25 December, 2010. Mohebi was faced with a variety of charges in court including: actions against national security, spreading of propaganda against the state, and membership in the One Million Signatures Campaign. The court sentenced Navid to a three year prison term, suspended for the period of 5 years. The court has not yet served Mohebi with the sentence.

Navid was arrested on 18 September, 2010 and has spent over 3 months in prison in the cities of Amol and Sari. According to statements issued by Reporters without Borders, Navid Mohebi at 18 years old, is the youngest blogger to be imprisoned in the world.
