Change for Equality: Three members of the One Million Signatures Campaign, were arrested earlier today in the mountains of Tochal, in the north of Tehran. Nafiseh Azad, Bigard Ebrahimi and another member of the Campaign, were arrested earlier today January 30, 2009 while collecting signatures in support of the Campaign’s petition and engaging in discussion with the public. Initially the members were detained in a police station in the mountains, after which they were transferred to Police Station One in Darband, where they were detained for several hours. These women’s rights activists have since been transferred to Vozara Detention Center. Their family and friends have been told that they can follow up their case with the courts in the morning.
