Amnesty Students Send Video Message of Support for Campaign

Thursday 4 December 2008

Change for Equality: Student members of Amnesty International have produced a beautiful video in support of the One Million Signature Campaign.

The Video was debuted on the internet during the annual conference of Amnesty college students. In this video female and male students from different parts of the world and attending different universities attending the conference came together in a march holding banners which included the logo of the One Million Signatures Campaign and the logo of the Campaign’s site Change for Equality. Some of the banners read: "when injustice become law, struggle become our responsibility;" "One Woman=One Man." The determination with which these students have come together in their symbolic solidarity and support of equal rights defenders in the One Million Signatures Campaign and the beautiful Kurdish song accompanying the video is moving indeed.

Last week, the site of the Campaign, Change for Equality, won the Reporters Without Borders Jury Prize of the Deutsche Welle International Weblog Awards—The BOBs. This type of independent and spontaneous international support at a time when internal pressures on activists involved in the One Million Signatures Campaign, give us much hope and aspire us to continue along our path.
