Court Dates Scheduled for Three Campaign Activists

Khadijeh Moghaddam and Akbar Khosrowshai Scheduled to Appear in Court on November 3

Change for Equality: Khadijeh Moghaddam and her husband, Akbar Khosrowshahi are scheduled to appear in court on Monday November 3, 2008. Her hearing is scheduled in the 15th Branch of the Revolutionary Courts. Moghaddam who is a member of the Mother’s Committee of the Campaign and the National Council of Peace was arrested in April 2008, after security police entered her home. She spent 9 days in detention, seven of which was in solitary confinement in Vozara Detention Center and two days at Evin prison’s public ward.

After repeated interrogations, the Investigative Court of the Security Branch of the Revolutionary Courts, charged Moghaddam with actions against national security, disruption of public opinion and spreading of propaganda against the state, for having held meetings and parties related to the Campaign in her private home. After Moghaddam’s release, her husband, Akbar Khosrowshahi, who is also a member and supporter of the One Million Signatures Campaign, was summoned to the Revolutionary Courts, and was interrogated by officials there. Both are scheduled to appear in Court on Monday November 3, 2008, and are being represented by Nasrin Sotoodeh.

Mahboubeh Karami Court Date Scheduled for November 1, 2008

Mahboubeh Karami’s trial is scheduled for court at Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Courts, on November 1, 2008. Karami was arrested in June of this year in Vanak Square and spent 70 days in Evin prison. She is charged with actions against national security. She is being represented by Houshang Pourbabai and Shirin Ebadi.
